Sometimes, the desire for a family photoshoot comes from nothing more than wanting to preserve memories as life moves forward.
That was exactly why Alane reached out to Very Dep Studio.
Her family runs their own business, which often takes them to different countries around the world. As a result, it is not always easy for everyone to be in the same city, or even the same country, at the same time. This rare reunion presented the perfect opportunity to create a new set of family portraits together with her two sons, Jordan and Felipe, and Felipe’s fiancée, Fanny.
One of the things we loved most about this session was learning about their family tradition. For many years, they have made it a habit to photograph each chapter of their lives together. These photographs are then printed, framed, and displayed on a large wall in their home, creating a visual family diary. With each new photoshoot, they can look back and see how every member of the family has grown and changed over time.
For hair and makeup, both Alane and Fanny preferred to handle their own foundation base. Our makeup artist therefore focused on enhancing the overall look through touch-ups to the eyes, eyebrows, lips, and hairstyling, creating a polished yet natural finish.
The photoshoot itself unfolded in a relaxed and organic way. Rather than heavily directed poses, the family wanted to capture genuine interactions and authentic moments together. Our role was simply to provide gentle guidance on posing and group combinations to create a wider variety of images while keeping everything natural and effortless.
Alongside the full family portraits, we particularly enjoyed documenting the unique relationships within the family, from the warm moments shared between Alane and her boys, to the brotherly bond between Felipe and Jordan, and the love between Felipe and Fanny. Jordan and Fanny also took the opportunity to create a few individual portraits during the session, adding another layer to this special family story.
As photographers, sessions like these are a wonderful reminder that family photographs are about much more than appearances. They become a record of time, relationships, and the people we hold closest to us.
