A family photoshoot does not depend on everyone smiling at the same moment. The way you prepare can help children feel comfortable and give the photographer room to capture both group portraits and the interactions between them. If you are planning a session in Hanoi, start with your family\u2019s usual routine, then think about clothes, who will take part and the photographs you most want.<\/p>\n

Choose a time that fits your children\u2019s routine<\/h2>\n

When you enquire, share your children\u2019s ages and suggest a time around their usual meals and naps. Tell us if a child takes time to warm up or is uncomfortable in unfamiliar spaces. This gives the team useful context before you arrive and helps you discuss a suitable session rather than choosing a date alone.<\/p>\n

Keep outfits comfortable and coordinated<\/h2>\n

Choose clothes that let children move and feel like themselves. Colours can complement one another without everyone wearing the same outfit. Lay the clothes out together beforehand and look for anything that draws attention away from faces, such as a large logo or a very busy pattern. Bring a spare outfit for younger children and share your styling ideas in the client survey after booking.<\/p>\n

Bring a few familiar essentials<\/h2>\n

A favourite toy, water and a familiar snack can be useful. Keep the bag simple so you can find what you need quickly. If a toy or family keepsake matters to your child, tell the photographer; it may become part of a portrait rather than something you have to hide.<\/p>\n

Plan the group combinations you care about<\/h2>\n

Write down the combinations that matter most: everyone together, siblings, each child with a parent, or grandparents with the children. Give children space to be themselves<\/h2>\n

You do not need to practise poses or ask children to smile on command. Talking, playing and staying close to the people they know can lead to natural photographs. Share what your children enjoy and let the photographer guide the session. A mix of composed portraits and small moments together can tell a fuller story than a single pose.<\/p>\n
