BRIEF

Portraits of Ki An and the interactions between three different generations of his family

LOCATION

Very Dep Studio | Hanoi Vietnam

Dominic reached out to VDS via email asking for a studio family portrait session. We were excited to learn that he wants to bring in three generations of his wife’s family to conduct the shoot and that includes a very small 2-month-old baby names Ki An. This shoot had both the youngest and the oldest client that our studio had the honor to welcome so far.

Ki An came to the studio sound asleep, wrapped against his grandfather’s arms. Just through the grandparents’ eyes, we knew that An must have been the first grand child that they have. Everyone paid great attention to him and they were nervous yet excited as it was the first time for Ki An to be out of the house ever since he was born. We started off with some portraits for the parents as An was still sleeping in grandpa’s embrace. Right when he wakes up, he joins his parents for some family portrait.

We got the chance to capture intimate moments with different combinations
(parents, grandparents, baby only, baby & grandparents, etc.) on different backgrounds. Ki An surprised everyone as he was an amazing model baby, no crying, no screaming, no “accidents”. During almost 3 hours of shooting, Ki An took short naps in between so the grandparents had the chance to take their solo or couple portraits also.

After three bottles of milk and two diaper changes :), we happily wrapped up the shoot as it was time for Ki An to take his noon nap. Dominic’s family showed us how wonderful it is when a baby comes into their lives. Everyone was ready to welcome, to love, and to raise Ki An into a sweet and kind boy.

We are very happy to be apart of this journey creating one of the first memories for Ki An with his family.
