JJ reached out to us after a recommendation from one of our clients from a previous pet & human shoot. His request was simple: capture real and natural moments of his family including JJ, Misty, and Kenya - their big brown dog.

Kenya is a large Doberman, being only 2 and a half years-old but weighing in at 47 kg. When she strutted into our studio in Hanoi, Kenya automatically won the title for the largest dog that we had ever welcomed. She was a big baby who enjoys her home-made chicken jerky and worked tirelessly as a pet model. JJ and Misty directed Kenya’s attention to her big chew bone and we quickly worked around.

During the shoot, we set aside some time to capture portraits for JJ and Misty each having their own moments with Kenya along with all three of them. They wanted a variety of images so we strived to give a diverse selection of backdrops and compositions. We loved the difference when Kenya interacted with her mom and dad. To her mom, she is a sweet chilled out and enjoyed sprawling out on the floor and placing her head on Misty’s lap. While with JJ, Kenya curled up into a big cuddle bug and stay in his lap, allowing us to capture some tender moments, along with some silly natural moments like this one.

Throughout the entire time, we shared many conversations with the family, learning about their life journey from the United States to Korea, then to Vietnam. We were honored to help them capture beautiful moments with their precious girl Kenya so the family can have them forever.
